Choice Words

This morning when I dragged myself out of bed after only one snooze, the Hoos pulled the covers over his head. When I returned to the room after showering he asked me, "How do you get out of bed in the morning?"

"I have to," I responded, "I have no choice."

He snorted and replied, "There are always choices."

Upon reflection I should have told him that the other choice was the I kick him out of bed first so I can sleep an extra few minutes while he showers. And then I can shower in peace and quiet while he gets the kids up and dressed and eating.

Speaking of getting the girls moving in the morning...

The other day, during a particularly painful wake-up call with LP, the Hoos said, "This is the difference between boys and girls."

I was confused and asked him to clarify.

"The crankiness. Boys don't have it."

In addition to pointing out that when he was in high school he used to ask his mother not to talk to him in the morning, I am asking all of you with boys to help me refute this statement. Please tell me boys can be moody.

Not that it matters. But it would be some solace.

I have 2 boys, and while one of them is only 1 year old, the four year old is DEFINITELY moody! Often in the morning (and at the end of the day). He's my own little drama queen!

I live with a boy-man. And I can definitely say that we can equal one another in mood swings. And the stories from his mother of when he and his brother were growing up are LEGENDARY. And since Hoos, who I love, is someone I think just displayed moodiness on his own just getting out of bed himself...um...touche counsellor.

Boys can be moody! And whiny! And cranky! I should have video taped my afternoon & then the Hoos would be convinced..

If you'd like to prove the Hoos wrong, I can ship my moody wonder out for a week:).

My step-son is the drama queen in our family. I'd give him to you for demonstration purposes but I no longer have him.

This morning my son was super cranky and kept saying that he didn't want to get out of bed. We had to drag him down the hall to the bathroom. Boys are definitely moody and cranky!
